Verona Scott’s only goal for Valentine’s Day is to avoid the holiday altogether. She plans the perfect getaway, at a castle no less, only to find herself smack dab in the middle of the Looking for Love Retreat. As Verona struggles to write her next romance novel, she looks to the retreat for inspiration. With the help of the retreat’s leader and dating coach, Troy Turner, she finds inspiration for her story and begins to believe that fairytales are possible in more than just books.

The Holiday Plan is a very solid breakout novel for author Emma Lynden. Any fan of traditional clean romances will absolutely enjoy this book. It is a heartwarming tale of healing, forgiveness, and getting hit with Cupid’s arrow when you least expect it! I am an avid watcher of Hallmark movies and could easily see this book becoming a future adaptation!

I enjoyed the characters of this book. They were likeable, yet still had flaws and internal struggles they needed to work through. I was interested in their stories and the development of their relationship. I thought their meet cute was fun and loved the runner with the roses throughout the story.

Easily 4/5 stars – I knocked it only for a certain aspect of the story that I thought was a little rushed.
