SSD Painting Series #4: And So it Goes

This piece, of course, comes from the Billy Joel song, "And So It Goes." It is the song to which Shane and Oliver dance in that unforgettable scene from The Masterpiece (be still my heart!) and we also hear it again in the chapel scene from Lost Without You. I'm not going to go into too much depth here (I have a future post planned for this analysis), but this song is the perfect choice for #ShOliver in so many ways. And also, it's just so beautiful! I remember once I learned the title of the song and began listening to it on YouTube, I sobbed...like a baby. And I'm not a crier!! There is just something about this piece that pulls all my emotional heartstrings. This song will always hold an extra special place in our POstable hearts.

Total side note: This song is probably the first real song that I truly learned how to play on the piano. By that I mean, a full song that I didn't just memorize the hand positions and play from muscle memory. If you're a baby piano player like me, check out Music Notes! It's a great resource. What I love about it is that you can find easier versions of contemporary/popular songs (because, let's face it, the pieces chosen for piano instruction books are boring!). You can find pretty much anything on the site, it's inexpensive, and you can immediately download it to start playing!
