ACCEPTABLE RISK by LYNETTE EASON

*I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to give a positive review.*

Sarah Denning, an investigative journalist, is discharged from the Army following an incident in Afghanistan. After assisting in her rescue, Gavin Black sticks with Sarah to help keep her safe. Danger seems to lurk around every corner for both Sarah and Gavin as they investigate a string of suspicious deaths.

Acceptable Risk is a fast-paced book with twists at every corner! I’ve read my fair share of romantic suspense and I felt this plot was unique for the genre and was interesting enough to keep me engaged. I appreciate that mental health was explored and not shied away from. However, I think Sarah’s relationship with her father could have been toned down. I found it a bit extreme. Lastly, this book is very dialogue heavy - I think a more exposition would have helped develop it further. Overall, a solid read.
